Porto, Portugal isn’t only a beautiful city with one of the world’s most famous bridges. If you love eating, it’s a great destination if you want to fill up on some of this European country’s best food.

There are great spots for all three meals in this hub city of northern Portugal. If you’re looking for the perfect plan for meals in a day in Porto, look no further. Here’s my favorite breakfast, lunch, and dinner spot in the city by the Douro.

Breakfast: Zenith

There’s nowhere better to start off your day in Porto than Zenith, where you can fill up with all kinds of breakfast and brunch-centric dishes. It’s located just across from the beautiful Carlos Alberto Square, where you can often find vendors hawking artisan goods.

Lunch: Cafe Santiago

After climbing Porto’s hills and city exploring all morning, you’ll probably be in need of some fuel. Look no further than Cafe Santiago, which serves the city’s best gut-busting francesinha sandwich, one of Porto’s most iconic dishes.

Dinner: Pedro Lemos

It’s not hard to find fine dining in Porto, and Pedro Lemos is the best spot to eat a fancy meal. Located near the Atlantic Coast in the Foz do Douro neighborhood, this Michelin-starred spot serves Portuguese-inspired dishes with a modern, creative touch.
