It’s always disappointing when you finally get to see an amazing architectural wonder in person, but can’t figure out how to take a good photo with and of it. This is a common occurrence with tall, imposing buildings, and here’s a couple of tips that can come in handy if you’re struggling.
The Right Distance
Photos of tall buildings are best taken from a distance. Instead of going right in front of the building, focus on finding the best possible viewpoint. Make sure that the entire structure is in the shot and figure out where you fit in from there.
Don’t Look Back
You don’t always have to look straight at the camera for the pic to be good. Photos that show you walking towards a building have a romantic quality, especially if you pick the perfect outfit for the occasion.
Focus on the Details
If taking photos with the entire building simply isn’t working, you can always opt for focusing on the details. Take photos that showcase individual parts of the structure in question, or consider using portrait mode if you want your face to be the focus.
