New York City is one of, if not the most, covetable places in the world for tourism. One of the biggest problems is, however, that the cost of hotels in the major tourist neighborhoods are exceedingly expensive, and are within the price range of only a small percentage of the people who visit.

Thankfully, developers in the Big Apple are finally getting keen on the trend of “microhotels,” or budget-friendly hotels that offer small rooms and the bare basics of accommodations. (Perhaps it would help to think of budget airlines for a comparison.)
