Awesome Things To Do In Barbados

One of the most unique experiences you can have in Barbados is exploring the underground of Harrison’s Cave. This crystallized limestone cave is filled with stalactites, stalagmites, and streams of crystal clear running water that drops from cascading waterfalls.

The best thing is that you will enjoy this experience aboard an electrical tram, which at the lowest point of the cave allows you to fully admire the amazing waterfall which plunges into a deep crystal-clear pool below.

Go on a rum tour at Mount Gay Distillery to learn about the history of rum production and taste this island’s favorite beverage. On the island of St. Lucia, you can buy a rum punch straight from the sea, from a boat laden with exotic fruit. Another unusual thing that you’ll see in Barbados is a tree with hanging empty rum bottles on the island of St. Kitts. Locals put them there to show their friends how much they’ve drunk.

Be a part of the biggest traditional harvest festival in Barbados, known as Crop Over, maintained every year. There are huge, lavish celebrations from June until the first Monday of August. The festival can be traced back to the slavery era when they marked the end of the sugarcane harvest.
