When you think about Belgium, you mostly think about Belgian chocolate, waffles, fries and the #1 beers. But Belgium is actually more than that! Here’s how to spend a lovely and fun time in Belgium, while not being too touristic.

Antwerp Zoo

Shopping

For all the shopaholics, the ‘Meir’ in Antwerp and all the surrounded streets are definitely worth at least a day of your stay. You can find every store you would imagine, from the typical commercial brands to more expensive and fancy shops.

Belgian Food

Should you first eat a waffle? Or first a pack of pralines? Or maybe a beer? And what about the fries? Or wait, maybe you should have them all! Belgium’s cuisine is widely varied and has some delicious dishes such as moules-frites and steak-frites.

Museums

Besides its good food and fashion, Belgium has also a strong cultural side. These are the top Belgian museums: Royal Museum of Fine Arts in Brussels, MAS (Museum aan de Stroom) in Antwerp, the Magritte Museum and Horta Museum.

A day well spent in Brugge

You can spend a lovely day in Brugge cruising on the canals, walking through the old city and the small authentic shops. Brugge is considered as the “Venice” of Belgium. Definitely a city on your bucket list.
