Brisbane offers a tonne of fun free things to do all year round. Here’s a reminder of the classic favorites as well as the best Christmas events that won’t cost you a penny.
Jump on a City Hopper
CityHoppers are the little red boats that travel between Sydney street terminal and North Quay. They are always free and are the best way to cross the river and get some skyline views.
See a Comedy Show
Every Friday, you can see a free comedy show at 6 pm at the Brisbane Powerhouse.
Do a Walking Tour
Keep an eye out for Brisbane greeters and ask about their free walking tours. You’ll get to learn about the city and discover some hidden gems in the city.

There are plenty of hiking routes around the city and many are accessible by public bus.

The Daisy Hill Koala Centre is free to enter. It’s a great place to get up close with koalas and learn about the mysterious marsupials.

Hit Up a Christmas Market
In December, there are a bunch of free and fun Christmas events. Head to the City Hall for festive light projections and don’t forget to check out the Christmas parade.
