Pacific Surfliner, Spain
The Amtrak route consists of 350 miles of ocean views with beaches, coastlines, quaint towns, and the beautiful blue Pacific. It leaves from the lively college town San Luis Obispo where you can explore the nearby wineries.
Jacobite Steam Train, Scotland
This 84-mile round trip journey in the Scottish Highlands starts at the town of Fort Williams near Britain’s highest mountain, Ben Nevis. The steam train winds through green hills, crystal lakes, deep valleys, and quaint Scottish villages.
Grand Canyon Railway, USA
Starting at Williams, Arizona, this 130-mile round trip heads north to the South Rim of Grand Canyon National Park. In addition to the spectacular desert landscape, passengers may spot wildlife that includes elk, mountain lions, deer, bald eagles, owls, and California condors.
Maharaja Express, India
The Maharaja Express is a recreation of the exquisite carriages that used to transport the ruling maharajas, the former royalty of India. There are trains departing from both Delhi and Mumbai. The journey lasts three-to-seven nights and goes through Agra (home of the Taj Mahal), Jaipur, Udaipur, and Ranthambore (where you can see Bengal tigers in the wild).
