Budapest is home to several history and art museums where you can explore the rich legacy of this city, but if you’re in the mood for something a little bit more unusual, here are three amazing museums you should check out during your visit to the Hungarian capital.

Flipper Muzeum

If you’re a huge fan of Pinball and wish this game never went out of style, this museum will make you feel like it’s just as popular as ever. In addition to seeing dozens of classic pinball machines, you’ll also be able to take a walk down memory lane by playing games on them.

Zwack Unicum Museum

Unicum is one of Hungary’s most beloved national drinks, and there’s no better place to explore its history than here. It’s located on the Zwack distillery grounds and features the largest collection of mini alcohol bottles in Central Europe.

Terror Háza

The House of Terror is one of Budapest’s must-visit museums, but that doesn’t make it any less sinister. It’s the memorial to the victims of the Nazi and Soviet regimes, and it lets visitors gain better insight into everything that citizens of this country went through during those difficult times.

The sign “TERROR” on the top of this building is huge, dark and terrifying… it’s all what it symbolizes. It’s a museum that contains exhibits related to fascism and communism and it’s also a memorial to the memory of those held captive, tortured and killed in this building. I refused to go inside, because I strongly felt negative vibes even from outside. Have you been to this museum?
