A visit to this South African metropolis is incomplete if you don’t set some time aside to check out Boulders Beach, and here are three reasons why tourists can’t get enough of it.
Penguin Watching
Boulders Beach has been home to a colony of African penguins since 1982, and they helped it become a huge sensation. The majority of tourists coming to this beach are here to observe these birds in their natural habitat, and there’s even a separate penguin viewing area if you’re in the mood for some penguin watching.
Water Sports
Even if it wasn’t for the penguins, Boulders would still be one of the most beautiful beaches near Cape Town, with a wide range of activities worth exploring during your visit. You can go swimming or snorkeling in its crystal clear waters or enjoy show-stopping views from its boardwalks.
Surrounding Attractions
Boulders Beach is located on the grounds of Table Mountain National Park, so it’s a good idea to explore some of the surrounding attractions during your visit. The nearby Simon’s Town is a good place to start, but you can also head to Cape of Good Hope if you don’t want to spend a full day at the beach.
