Lexington, Kentucky is known for horseback breeding and riding, tons of historic homes, bluegrass music, and more. Kentucky is a magical state and visiting Lexington gives you such a great idea of what Kentucky used to be like and how it’s moving into the future.

If you want to take your knowledge of horses to the next level, you have to visit the American Saddlebred Museum. This museum gives you a great history through artifacts and art about saddlebred horses, which is important to know when you’re in Lexington.

Political History

Ashland is the name of the historic home of Henry Clay, a representative from Kentucky in the 18th and 19th century. This vast estate has gorgeously manicured grounds, a stunning home, and actually a lot of walking trails you can enjoy. Take some time to take a tour around the property and get an idea of what it was like to live in the times of Henry Clay.

The Arboretum

Lexington is home to the state botanical garden of Kentucky, so it’s definitely worthwhile to see. There is beautiful local flora in the gardens which are located at the University of Kentucky, and it’s a great way to spend the day.
