Portugal and Spain are right next to each other in some areas, even though the two countries are in two different time zones. So, if you’re in the right place, you can actually walk back and forth between the two countries!
Now, how many times in your life will you be able to say you walked from one country to another and changed time zones at the same time?
The best place to start this journey is from the town of Tui in the region of Galicia, Spain. This town is super cute and has beautiful views of the river and a massive cathedral you have to go inside.
From Tui, just walk south on the bridge and you’ll arrive an hour before you left in the beautiful town of Valenca.
What makes Valenca so special is that there is an ancient Roman fortress there that looks out onto the natural landscape, and is an adorable town as well. The fortress was built in the 13th century, but it has been rebuilt many times throughout history.
Valenca is known for their linens, so if you’re in need of new towels, this is the place to get them! You can also walk around the cobblestone streets, go into one of the many churches, and just enjoy the view.
