Have you ever visited Tokyo before? If so, you probably know that this Asian capital can be an absolutely overwhelming place. While it’s a fascinating place to visit, there’s no doubt that it can become an absolute sensory overload for those that aren’t familiar with its bright lights, strong smells, and intense experiences.

If you find yourself in Tokyo and overwhelmed, the good thing is that you know have an option if you want to get out of the city and into nature.

Fuji Excursion is a new train service that offers travelers a direct route from the Japanese capital to the mythical volcano of Mt. Fuji.

While other routes offered a train service that took travelers by Mt. Fuji, this new service, launched in March of this year just in time for Cherry Blossom Season, is the first one to actually take travelers and leave them at the mountain. Previously, the only option was a long bus ride.

The trip on the high-speed trains will take travelers from Tokyo to Mt. Fuji in just over two hours, slashing travel times.

The train station drops you at the base of the mountain and gets you just where you need to go for hiking and cultural exploration of the area. So, what are you waiting for? Be sure to give this new experience a try if you find yourself in Japan.
