If you are in Spain then visiting Catalonia is a must and visiting Dali’s home museum is an absolute necessity. The gorgeous location of Portlligat, is where Dali lived for the majority of his life. The home is in a charming location on a coastline with glorious weather most of the year.

The home is maintained to look like when Salvador Dali lived there so there is artwork all over the walls, momentos scattered around the house and enviable interior design. The house is an intimate look into Dali’s day-to-day life and was also transformed from a fisherman’s hut in 1930 based singularly on his sketches and designs. The public can view Dali’s home, jewel collection and there is a theatre-museum as well! The Salvador Dali Theatre Museum boasts one of the most extensive art collections of Dali’s work in the globe. This is not just a simple house tour and definitely worth spending at least a full day of your travels to explore the life and mind of the most important surrealist artist of all time.
