If you love to read, or even if you’ve just read some of the classics for schools, you might enjoy getting a better vision of the plots of your books by visiting the scenes where they take place. Luckily, plenty of book settings are real places or based on real places that you can visit today. Here are some of the best!

Harry Potter: King’s Cross Station (London, England)

If you’ve been waiting since you were 11 to cross over to platform 9 3/4 and take the train to Hogwarts, you can visit this real train station and test your luck. There’s even a sign in the place where you can try to go through! It’s a cute destination if you have some free time while visiting London.

The Shining: The Stanley Hotel (Estes Park, Colorado)

This Colorado hotel has been reporting ghost sitings for years, and apparently spooked Stephen King so much that he decided to write what would become one of the most well-known horror books and even more classic horror movies in recent history. They’ve even got a tour of the hotel’s history and the book it inspired.

Twilight: Bella Italia (Forks, Washington)

There’s a lot of spots around the Forks, Washington area that are known from the Twilight series, which sparked a worldwide crazy not too long ago. One such spot is the restaurant where Bella and Edward first go to eat, where you can eat yourself and pretend you’re also on a date with a vampire.
