There are many beautiful places that should be visited in Barcelona, but while the La Sagrada Familia and other famous landmarks of the city are attracting all the attention, others stay mostly undiscovered.

One such place is the stunning aquarium of Barcelona which is one of the most spectacular aquariums in the world and it’s just waiting to be discovered by the general public.

With its 450 different animal species and over 11,000 fish, this aquarium offers a different perspective of life underwater. It houses many large aquariums that contain a great variety of species separated in different habitat-themed settings.

The Oceanarium is the largest of the aquariums, and you can walk through it thanks to an 80-meter-long glass tunnel that passes through the middle. There you will be able to see many gorgeous sea creatures like rays and sharks.

The most unique experience that this beautiful place offers is swimming with sharks! If you have the guts for it, you can go through a quick diving course and swim with the sharks, accompanied by an instructor. Also, you can spend one night at the aquarium and ‘sleep with the fish’.

All in all, this fish lovers’ paradise is definitely worth your time!
