Crossing the Golden Gate Bridge is one of the entries on pretty much everyone’s bucket list. Once you find yourself in San Francisco, you’ll get excited about making this dream come true, but be sure to follow these steps before embarking on this exciting walk.

Weather Forecast

If you have a choice, pick a nice and sunny day to do your walk across the bridge. San Francisco can be pretty foggy at times, and it’s possible you won’t even get to see the top of the bridge if you do your walk at certain times of the day.

Windy Times

Like most bridges, Golden Gate is open from all sides and surrounded by water. Wind will probably be blowing right in your face during the walk, so make sure to dress up in layers and pull your hair back if you don’t want it to be all messy by the time you make it to the other side.

Safe and Sound

You’ll be surrounded by a lot of people during your walk, and it’s important to be really careful. The walkway isn’t extremely narrow and you’ll often be sharing it with cyclists and other tourists trying to take a picture, so be alert at all times.
