The City of Love is known for many things, but being cheap isn’t one of them. While there are tons of attractions and experiences that will cost you a ton, there are a bunch of great ones that are free. Here are three free things to do while in Paris, France.
Parc du Champ de Mars
While a lift to the peak of the Eiffel Tower can take you over your budget, the views from below at Parc du Champ de Mars are just as amazing. Have a picnic and wait for the light show at dusk while taking in the scenery around you.
Cimitière du Père Lachaise
Pay respect to literary greats like Proust and Balzac and modern icons like Oscar Wilde and Edith Piaf in this cemetery and enjoy one of the most gorgeous walks in the city on the cobbled pathways. The Doors’ Jim Morrison is buried here and his grave is barricaded off to prevent fans from making it a pilgrimage site.
Marché d’Aligre
Enjoy the tastes and smells from this food market in the 12th arrondissement. Opened six days a week, the Marché d’Aligre, also known as Marché Beauvau, has tons of cheeses, artisan butchers, flowers, fruits, veggies, and clothes.
