There are a few reasons that it’s hard to travel with children. In addition to the fact that you need to care for them, watch over them, feed them, and all of the above—you also have to make sure they aren’t bothering anyone else. This is easier in everyday life, but when you’re flying on a plane, it’s darn near impossible. Here are some things you can do to make this experience as easy as possible.

Hand Out Peace Offerings

If you’re traveling with a noisy child or an infant, hand out earplugs and/or snacks to those sitting near you. This can be a great way to endear yourself to your seat neighbors, and let them know that you apologize for the inconvenience that they might be going through.

Board Games

We’re talking about the mini-sized board games that are designed specifically for the purpose of using them on a plane. You could allow your kids to play digital games on a smartphone, but let’s be real: the former option is a lot healthier for their brains.

In-Flight Movies

But if brain health and soul nourishment has all but gone out the window, you could always urge your children to watch an in-flight movie. Thankfully, most airlines offer children-friendly shows that are appropriate for the whole family.
