Knowing what to eat on a plane can be tricky – you want something that won’t disturb other passengers (so no nuts or fish), something that will still taste good a mile up, and something that is easy to package and won’t spill. If you’re about to get on a long flight, check out these simple snacks that can keep you going through the fight.

Tomato and Mozzarella Pot

Tomatoes are one of the flavors that your tastebuds can still taste at high altitudes, while mozzarella is a mild-flavored cheese that won’t offend other passengers. Simply slice a few tomatoes and some of the cheese, drizzle with olive oil and pack in a sealable pot. Make sure you bring a plastic or wooden fork to eat it with.

Prepared Biscuits

Prep your snack in advance by spreading butter on a biscuit, topping with a slice of cheese and another biscuit. This will give you a tasty, satisfying snack that can be simply wrapped in foil or clingfilm, and won’t disturb other travelers.

Guacamole Sandwiches

Mash a ripe avocado with the juice of 1 lime, some salt, and olive oil. Spread this as the filling of a sandwich, wrap this in foil, and voila! You’ve got a healthy, filling flight snack all ready to go.
