Tivoli, Lazio

This beautiful town is only 20 miles north of Rome, so it can make a great weekend base if you need a break from the city. As well as the famous gardens, there are stunning streets to explore, amazing restaurants and great play parks for the kids to enjoy themselves in.

Levanto, Liguria

This is a great place to enjoy small town life, and all the wonders of the beach. While you take in the stunning scenery and unbelievable architecture, the kids can enjoy swimming in the calm waters and tucking into artisanal gelato. Amalfi is a buzzing, friendly place, and whilst there are some upmarket cafes and restaurants you’ll find plenty that welcome children too.
