While many vacationers flock to the Maldives, if you really want to get away from people, head straight to Ithaafushi, a private island in the Maldives. Ithaafushi is luxurious and secluded—what more could you want during the times of COVID?
Ithaafushi—The Private Island is part of the Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts brand and it’s now offering the “ultimate escape”, a getaway that is private and includes personalized service. It’s located near the island of Malé and to get there, guests will take a 40-minute ride on one of the resort’s six luxury Ithaafushi Princess yachts or they’ll take a 15-minute seaplane flight.
The island accommodates 24 guests across two villas and one four-bedroom residence. The two-bedroom overwater villa has dual primary bedrooms, a shared living space, an infinity pool, a jacuzzi, and an indoor and outdoor rain shower. The three-bedroom villa has all of those amenities as well as lush gardens, two swimming pools, and direct access to the beach.
Guests will also enjoy a bespoke menu prepared just for them and they can choose between using the estate’s common living room for meals or in-villa dining. On the main island, there are 10 specialty restaurants to dine in.
There’s also snorkeling, diving, and a private sand beach in the middle of the ocean where guests can have a sunset dinner or enjoy personal yoga classes. Does it get any more luxurious?
