Canada is home to countless marvels of contemporary architecture, and many of them can be found outside its major cities, such as Toronto or Montreal. Calgary is home to numerous buildings and sculptures that look straight out of a sci-fi movie, and here are a few you should check out.

Calgary Central Library

Book and architecture lovers alike will feel right at home while browsing through Calgary’s Central Library. Its collage-like glass exterior is truly a sight to behold, but the real magic starts once you step inside and discover its curvy wooden paneling.

Wonderland Sculpture

Wonderland Sculpture is one of Calgary’s most picture-perfect attractions, and it’s located right in front of The Bow, one of the city’s most impressive skyscrapers. This building presents an amazing backdrop for the futuristic sculpture, which offers two entrances so the visitors can explore it both inside and out.

Peace Bridge

Peace Bridge serves as the link between the southern Bow River and downtown Calgary. It’s been designed by the Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava, and its red and white color combo represents the colors of the Canadian flag. It’s known by the nickname Finger Trap Bridge because its design mimics this popular toy.
