Yosemite is one of the most famous national parks in the US and for the right reasons. Waterfalls, lush valleys, mountains, and rock formations at just some of the things that make this California park a must-see for everyone.

Here are 3 of the best hikes to do while visiting the park:

Half Dome

The iconic rock formed mountain called Half Dome is perhaps the most famous part of Yosemite. That being said, it is also the most popular hike, meaning you must get a permit in advance in order to do the full trip to the top. This 14-mile trail is not for everyone, although the beautiful views and the cables make this one of the most famous hikes around the world.

Vernal and Nevada Falls

This is a great option for an easy or moderate hike, but without missing any of the beautiful nature of the park. Hike a 3 miles round trip to Vernal Falls or add an additional 4 to see Nevada Falls as well. These waterfalls flow year-round so this is a great option for an easier hike that will be beautiful any time of year.

Yosemite Falls

Here is another challenging hike (not as long or crowded as Half Dome), but if you are up for an adventure, every step is worth it. Hike 7 miles to the top of North America’s tallest waterfall to see views of Half Dome and Yosemite Valley. If you want to see a real force of nature, do this hike in the spring months when the waterfall is most powerful from all the melted snow flowing from the mountains.
