]]>You may well have checked the weather forecast and seen that it’s due to be hot and sunny the whole time you’re there. However, weather can always change, and even if it is super hot then often in the evenings and nighttime the temperature can drop suddenly.
There’s nothing worse than being in a hot tent and having to rummage through a big bag to find something you need. If you have smaller bags within your bag and work out some kind of system then it will be much easier to find things and you can save lots of time and energy.
Due to the nature of festivals, you’ll likely end up getting yourself and your belongings dirty or wet at some point, so having spare socks and underwear to rely on in these moments is a lifesaver.

]]>If you know anything about Greek myth, you’ll know that this was the peak on which the ancient Greeks believed the gods had their homes. Surrounded by beautiful pine forests, this mountain still feels mysterious and powerful today, but unlike some of the more challenging climbs in the Alps or Dolomites, Mount Olympus is a relatively easy climb (although the final section can get technical). If you prefer to just admire the views from afar, the mountain is set within the Mount Olympus National Park, where there are plenty of relaxing trails.
This rugged peak in the Glen Coe National Park is relatively simple to climb, but if you don’t fancy the hike there is always the mountain gondola which provides stunning views over the Ben Nevis range. If you plan to tackle this mountain in fall or winter, make sure you’re experienced and well equipped, as challenging weather can make this mountain dangerous.
The fourth highest mountain in the Alpine range, the hike up can get very challenging and should only be attempted by experienced climbers. However, walks in the foothills of this mountain can be sublime, especially in spring and summer when the mountain flowers are blooming.

]]>Fortunately, there are tons of things that beaches offer even when you can’t soak up the sun in your swimming gear. Here are three other activities that you can enjoy during the off-season.
A bonfire is a great plan for a cool day at the beach. Here, you can relax in a socially distanced setting while enjoying snacks and drinks with your closest friends. The fire will keep you warm, and the sight of sunset at the beach is something that leaves an unforgettable image.
Rockpools are one of my favorite parts of the beach, as these tidal creations are often teeming with sea life that can be explored up close. Check out flora and fauna such as anemones, sea grass, and sea stars while checking out your local beach in the fall or winter.
Why not use the beach to get outside and get moving? Beach sports like soccer, volleyball, and football are a fantastic way to spend an afternoon with friends, or you can even opt for a solo activity like running. With tons of space and all kinds of options, playing sports at the beach is a great year-round option.

]]>Recent research has shown that outdoor activities, when combined with wearing a mask while in close proximity to others, is a low-risk way to have fun while this pandemic continues.
With that in mind, here are three great things you can do while exploring a new city that are outside and have minimal risk.
Zoos are a great activity for the whole family at any time, but this outdoor attraction is especially great in 2020. Seeing majestic animals in an outdoor setting with your loved ones is a fantastic and safe way to spend a morning or afternoon.
Another great option during the ongoing pandemic is a visit to a city’s botanical garden. Most cities that are visited by tourists will have at least one to check out where you’ll be able to see impressive collections of both native and exotic flora.
One of the revolutions of the past couple of decades has been the introduction of urban parks in many cities around the globe. Oases of green in built-up environments can be the perfect, safe place to escape the hustle and bustle that surrounds you while visiting a city.

]]>Fall foliage lovers should look no further than Great Smoky Mountains National Park in Tennessee and North Carolina for their autumn vacations. Here, you’ll be able to see a fiery burst of oranges and reds in the months of October and November as the leaves change in this scenic location.
Acadia National Park on the Maine Coast is also a great place to see fall foliage. In addition, changing autumn weather can bring all kinds of dramatic scenes to the beaches and mountains which border the North Atlantic Ocean in this gem of a national park.
Everglades National Park in the state of Florida is unbearably hot to visit in the summer, but when the mercury dips in the fall this is an ideal place to explore. Here, you’ll find swamps which contain fascinating animals like alligators, turtles, and a wide variety of birds and can be explored via hikes and walking paths.

]]>This steel sculpture was completed in 1998, and is located in Gateshead, Tyne and Wear in the north of England. It is perhaps the most famous public artwork in the entire UK.
Before it was commissioned this project raised many concerns and comments, including a worry that its massive size and metallic material might interfere with TV reception.
As part of the development, the artist prepared a few models for the sculpture, the body of which is based on a cast of the artist’s own body. One of these models was even featured in the BBC show Antiques Roadshow in 2008 and was appraised to be valued £1 million.

]]>While it only has 2 million residents and not a lot of cities or towns to see, its mountain attractions attract climbers and adventure seekers who have been lucky enough to discover this small kingdom.
Only two ski resorts exist in all of Africa, and arguably the best one is Afriski in Lesotho. Containing a top elevation of 10,571 feet and a vertical drop of over 1,000 feet to its base, skiers will have a great time shredding the slopes at an unlikely place at this resort.
In the Southern Hemisphere’s winter is the Afriski season, which lasts from early June until late August most years. During these precious months of the year, various slopes on the open are there for shredding thanks to the region’s cold climate, occasional snowfall, and snowmaking machines.
Not only will you find the experience of skiing or snowboarding in Africa a thrilling possibility in and of itself, but you’ll also find other experiences in these mountains such as mountain biking and hiking.
There is truly no way for anyone to be bored at Afriski.
So, if you find yourself looking for a unique thing to do during the Southern Hemisphere’s winter or the Northern Hemisphere’s hot summer, why not plan a trip to go skiing in Lesotho?

]]>The post Ever Heard of Glamping? This Travel Trend is the New Big Thing appeared first on Traveler Master.
]]>So, what has risen up as one of the most popular travel trends in recent years? Well, glamping, of course!
Glamping is a new form of rural travel in which people spend their time in the great outdoors in a setting with amenities and facilities that are a step above your normal campground experience. From power outlets to king-sized beds, a glamping experience has nothing to do with the traditional experience of sleeping while freezing cold in a sleeping bag on the ground.
Not all glamping accommodations are as luxurious and expensive as you might think. In fact, semi-permanent cloth “tents” with comfortable furniture and beds but little other amenities are a common way to glamp.
They offer comfort and a way to camp that’s a step above the traditional style, but still offer guests the essence of the great outdoors.
So, try glamping and you might just enjoy your outdoor experience even more than you thought you would!

]]>Here are 3 of the best hikes to do while visiting the park:
The iconic rock formed mountain called Half Dome is perhaps the most famous part of Yosemite. That being said, it is also the most popular hike, meaning you must get a permit in advance in order to do the full trip to the top. This 14-mile trail is not for everyone, although the beautiful views and the cables make this one of the most famous hikes around the world.
This is a great option for an easy or moderate hike, but without missing any of the beautiful nature of the park. Hike a 3 miles round trip to Vernal Falls or add an additional 4 to see Nevada Falls as well. These waterfalls flow year-round so this is a great option for an easier hike that will be beautiful any time of year.
Here is another challenging hike (not as long or crowded as Half Dome), but if you are up for an adventure, every step is worth it. Hike 7 miles to the top of North America’s tallest waterfall to see views of Half Dome and Yosemite Valley. If you want to see a real force of nature, do this hike in the spring months when the waterfall is most powerful from all the melted snow flowing from the mountains.
