3 Great Beach Activities in the Off-Season

The days are getting shorter and the temperatures are slowly beginning to drop, which means that it’s almost that unfortunate time of the year when going to the beach to sunbathe and swim just isn’t an option in most places.

Fortunately, there are tons of things that beaches offer even when you can’t soak up the sun in your swimming gear. Here are three other activities that you can enjoy during the off-season.

Bonfire

A bonfire is a great plan for a cool day at the beach. Here, you can relax in a socially distanced setting while enjoying snacks and drinks with your closest friends. The fire will keep you warm, and the sight of sunset at the beach is something that leaves an unforgettable image.

Rockpool Exploring

Rockpools are one of my favorite parts of the beach, as these tidal creations are often teeming with sea life that can be explored up close. Check out flora and fauna such as anemones, sea grass, and sea stars while checking out your local beach in the fall or winter.

Sports

Why not use the beach to get outside and get moving? Beach sports like soccer, volleyball, and football are a fantastic way to spend an afternoon with friends, or you can even opt for a solo activity like running. With tons of space and all kinds of options, playing sports at the beach is a great year-round option.
