]]>One American city that any craft beer lover has to visit is Asheville, North Carolina, a mountain town scenically nestled in a valley of the Appalachian Mountains.
Asheville has a unique and care-free reputation, and this character extends to the city’s beer scene. Despite only having a population of 92,000, Asheville hosts tons of craft breweries. The city in and of itself boasts nearly 30, and the surrounding region hosts even more.
It’s easy to take a stroll around Asheville’s comfy downtown area and visit lots of the breweries without using a car. One of our favorite Asheville breweries (which is located within walking distance from the city center) is Burial Beer Company. This brewery produces unique ales and offers a comfortable outside beer garden to enjoy your drinks in.
Other Asheville breweries in the city center with a fantastic reputation include Wicked Weed (IPAs and sour beers galore), Hi-Wire Brewing (good beer in a chic, industrial-inspired space), and Bhramari Brewing Company (a gastropub with an eclectic beer selection).

]]>If you’re a Nascar fan, you’ve come to the right palce. The Nascar Hall of Fame is located in Uptown Charlotte, which is what the downtown of Charlotte is called. Visiting the Nascar Hall of Fame is a great place to take kids as well as adults!
Just 10 minutes from Charlotte is the US National Whitewater Center, and it is absolutely worth driving to. Not only are there ropes courses and loads of activities for kids and adults, but the whitewater rivers are just as intense as you will find out in nature. You can kayak or take a raft ride, everything there is really top notch.
Another great place to spend some time outdoors is Freedom Park. Known to the locals the Central Park of Charlotte, this huge park is located between two beautiful historic neighborhoods called Dilworth and Meyers Park. There is tons of grass to lounge, live outdoor concerts and events during the summer, and even a trail called Little Sugar Greenway that leads you to Uptown!
