Colloquially known as the happiest place on earth, Disney World proves to be an ideal family vacation destination, particularly if you have young kids. Still, this fun-filled resort can prove to be very expensive. Fortunately, there are some ways that you can enjoy a very affordable trip to Disney World if you take the right approach.

The Summer Special

Just in time for summer, a range of Disney World hotels have released some special deals. Disney Springs Hotels offers special rates at an array of its hotels, with Wyndham Garden costing just $97 per night. Even the most upmarket option offered by the group, namely the Hilton hotel, commands a price of $186 per night; a relatively affordable price compared to equivalent hotels.

Special Perks

Given that each of the hotels on Special is located within walking distance of the Disney theme park, you’ll be glad to know that they provide some special perks that you can enjoy at the resort itself. In addition to enjoying free shuttle busses between your hotel of choice and Disney World, you’ll also get 30-minute early access to any of the parks, meaning you’ll be able to get to the front of the line for your ride of choice.

Disney theme parks offer a fantastic experience if you are patient enough. But if you are not, then you might struggle with waiting in long lines for almost every ride.

Now, there are three ways to deal with this. The first is not to go on rides and miss out, something we don’t recommend. The second one is to train your patience, which we know can sometimes be a challenge. And the third is to simply follow these tips and avoid long lines altogether.

Avoid Visiting During Peak Seasons

If you visit in the summer or around holidays, then there is basically nothing you can do to avoid lines due to huge crowds. However, if you leave your Disney theme park visit for the off-season, you will learn that the lines are actually not that long.

Get There Before It’s Open

One of the best ways to avoid long lines at Disney theme parks is to go on rides before they are formed. Get in front of the gate before the park even opens, and you will ensure you are one of the first people taking the rides. Then you can spend the rest of the day doing other activities.

Use “Single Rider” Line

Some of Disney’s rides have a “single rider “line that allows visitors to get to rides faster if they are riding solo. You will not be able to share the experience with your family or friends, but at least you won’t wait in long lines like them.

Skip the Shows and Special Events

Shows and special events like parades usually leave the rides abandoned because all the visitors want to be where the party is. If you are willing to miss that party, you can profit and go on rides without waiting.

Are you looking to visit Florida’s Disney World with your closest group of girlfriends? Whether it’s for a bachelorette party, reunion, or birthday, Disney World has it all—there’s the theme park, bars, restaurants, seasonal festivals, shopping, and tons of entertainment. Disney isn’t just great for making childhood memories, it’s also fantastic for celebrating with your girls. Here’s how to plan the ideal Disney World girls’ trip.

Where to Stay

While there are plenty of places to lodge, we suggest staying at a Disney World Resort hotel, which will give you tons of perks like complimentary transportation via boat, Skyliner, Monorail, or bus and tons of Disney-themed things. There are resorts are every price point so if you want budget-friendly accommodation, opt for Disney’s Pop Century Resort and if you’re looking for luxury, Disney’s Yacht Club Resort and Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa are great options.

What to Do

Obviously you’ll want to spend your time at the theme parks, so opt for a Park Hopper ticket, which allows you to visit more than one park per day. For trips that are longer than three days, use one of your days to relax at the resort’s pool or spa. Be sure to spend one evening at Disney Springs, the shopping, dining, and entertainment district.

Where to Eat

You can find everything from iconic Disney World snacks like corn dogs, funnel cake, and Dole Whips to table-service themed options like Cinderella’s Royal Table and Be Our Guest. At Animal Kingdom, the best places to check out are Satu’li Canteen, Nomad Lounge, and Tamu Tamu Refreshments. Epcot offers food and drinks from 11 countries around the world.

Disney vacations are once in a lifetime, but they also happen to be very expensive. Between the on-site hotel stays, park tickets, dining plans, and souvenirs, the happiest place on earth comes at a high price. If you have flexible vacation timelines, one of the best ways to make Disney World vacations more affordable is to travel during “off seasons”. So what are the cheapest times to visit Disney World?

While many argue that Disney World doesn’t have an “off-season”, as it’s packed year-round, there are months that are less busy. January and parts of early February are the cheapest times to visit Disney World because many families have just traveled during the holiday season. The first month of the new year is generally quieter in the parks and hotel rooms and park tickets are cheaper.

When booking during the post-holiday time, avoid the Disney marathon weekends, Martin Luther King Jr. weekend, and schools’ February vacation which usually takes place around the third week of February.

In addition to January and February, a lot of September, October, and November can also be reasonably priced. If you want to experience the Christmas season with the holiday decorations and festivities, but want to avoid the crowds, the two to three weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas are quieter times to visit the park.

In regards to specific days of the week, crowds are smaller and hotel rooms are cheaper on weekdays (Monday through Thursday) than on weekends.

Halloween is approaching but it will look different this year in amusement parks as they will have to make adjustments. However, they will still do whatever they can to provide visitors plenty of fun things to do. Here’s how Disney World will celebrate Halloween in 2020.

Halloween in Disney World is a magical experience. Everybody dresses up in costumes and enjoy incredible tricks and treats. This year, it will look different, and here’s how.

No “Mickey’s Not-So-Scary” Halloween Party

We’re sad about it but we understand that organizing a party is simply not safe right now. The party typically features a parade, fireworks, specialty foods and drinks, and of course, plenty of costumed characters. This year, it has been canceled due to COVID-19.

Merchandise

You’ll still be able to find Halloween-themed souvenirs like spirit jerseys, trick-or-treat buckets, Minnie witch hats, candy ears, and many more.

Main Street Decor

Main Street U.S.A. will still get Halloween decoration that you can enjoy on your way to Cinderella Castle.

“We have taken enhanced health and safety measures,” the park’s website reads. “An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. Certain parks, hotels, restaurants, and other offerings may be modified or unavailable, limited in capacity and subject to limited availability or closure, and park admission and offerings are not guaranteed.”

Walt Disney World is known as “the happiest place on earth”, but after being closed for four months during COVID-19, Disney World reopened in July with a lot of changes. Like many places that have started to reopen, it’s not what it used to be before the pandemic.

In addition to the many health and safety measures in place like forehead temperature scans at security checkpoints as guests enter the gates, you have to make reservations online to accommodate the parks’ limited capacity.

There are sanitizer stations and reminders to wash hands, designated waiting spots, the requirement to wear masks, and foot patters to be followed when walking in stores.

The parades and character meet-and-greets are also gone and they’ve been replaced with unscheduled “pop-up” appearances in the parks. One positive thing is that the wait times for the parks’ most popular attractions are pretty much gone.

If you’re planning on visiting Disney World, make sure you make your reservations early including for dining because eating while walking has been banned. Also, come with extra masks as you’ll sweat through your masks quickly in the Florida heat.

Before you plan your visit, be aware that some parks, hotels, and restaurants may be limited in capacity or unavailable. To stay up to date on the latest information check out the park’s official website.

One is on the East Coast and the other is on the West Coast, but this is not the only difference between Disneyland and Disney World. They are two very different places and here are the biggest differences between them.

Size

The Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida contains four theme parks and two water parks. Disneyland in Anaheim, California is much smaller, containing two theme parks and no water parks. However, the smaller theme park in California has its advantages—it’s less overwhelming, especially if you’re taking small kids.

Rides

The two theme parks have different rides. Walt Disney World offers Pandora the World of Avatar, Spaceship Earth, Kilimanjaro Safaris, Seven Dwarfs Mine Trail, etc. In Disneyland, you’ll find Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage, Mickey’s Fun Wheel, Matterhorn Bobsleds, and more.

Castles

The centerpiece of the Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom is Cinderella’s Castle, which is taller than Sleeping Beauty’s Castle at Disneyland. You may want to consider this if you or your kids have a favorite Disney princess whose castle is a must-see.
