3 Big Differences Between Disneyland and Disney World

One is on the East Coast and the other is on the West Coast, but this is not the only difference between Disneyland and Disney World. They are two very different places and here are the biggest differences between them.

Size

The Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida contains four theme parks and two water parks. Disneyland in Anaheim, California is much smaller, containing two theme parks and no water parks. However, the smaller theme park in California has its advantages—it’s less overwhelming, especially if you’re taking small kids.

Rides

The two theme parks have different rides. Walt Disney World offers Pandora the World of Avatar, Spaceship Earth, Kilimanjaro Safaris, Seven Dwarfs Mine Trail, etc. In Disneyland, you’ll find Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage, Mickey’s Fun Wheel, Matterhorn Bobsleds, and more.

Castles

The centerpiece of the Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom is Cinderella’s Castle, which is taller than Sleeping Beauty’s Castle at Disneyland. You may want to consider this if you or your kids have a favorite Disney princess whose castle is a must-see.
