Sun, Sea and Art: Sydney and Perth’s “Sculpure by the Sea”

At this exhibition in Sydney and Perth, you can enjoy art in nature’s own gallery.

If you’re heading to Sydney this Spring, be sure not to miss one of the city’s most popular events. Sculpture by the Sea is a free public exhibition hosted on the coastal walk from Bondi to Tomarama. In Spring, it hosts the largest annual sculpture exhibition in the world and features spectacular work from an array of artists.

Due to the event’s popularity, a sister exhibition was developed in Perth on Australia’s Indian Ocean coast in March. Over 70 sculptures pop up along the coast so you can admire the sun, sea and fabulous collection of artwork.

The exhibition opened up in 1997 and has been growing ever since. 25,000 people visited the exhibition in Sydney that year, compared to 500,000 now. You can read more about the event here.
