Should You Choose Traveling With a Suitcase Or a Backpack?

So, you decided to go on a short vacation, for only 3-4 days, how fun! You’re getting ready to pack, and you decided to pack “light” this time. So which is better—a suitcase or a trolley?

Where You’re Going

First of all, you need to understand where you are going. If you are going on a backpacking trip, sleeping in a tent in nature, of course, you are better off with a backpack. If you are flying by plane to a big city, and staying in a hotel, you will probably be more comfortable with a trolley.

Access

Keep in mind, that even if you are traveling to a city, in some cities there is no easy access to the hotel. In some East Asian cities, for example, access can be via high staircases. In this case, it is better to travel with a backpack and not carry a suitcase.

What You’re Taking

Think about what you need to take with you, and whether it will be more convenient for you to pack your clothes in a backpack or small suitcase. For example, if you know you will need more than one pair of shoes (say day and evening shoes), you will probably be less comfortable packing them in a backpack.
