Have you ever witnessed the sea sparkling? No? And you have no idea what that is? Well, we will reveal to you the secret: fairytales do exist, and seeing this fascinating creation of Mother Nature, should get on your bucket list!

This phenomenon is a natural chemical process called bioluminescence, which allows living things to produce light in their body. The sparkling is caused by calm and warm sea conditions and when touched or manipulated by the wave, splash, or even by a human being, marine animals, such as squid, fish, algae bloom in different neon colors. And that’s when all the magic happens: the deep blue sea water lights up in red, silver, blue, yellow or green color.

This national ocean wonder can be found around the world: Luminous Lagoon in Jamaica, Halong Bay in Vietnam, and Puerto Rico’s Laguna Grande, La Parguera, and Mosquito Bay. Mosquito Bay is currently the brightest one.

More and more people are led by curiosity travel miles and miles to witness this beauty. If you are now intrigued, and ready to pack your bags, you should be aware of a couple of things: bioluminescence beings are very rare and it isn’t that easy to capture this nature’s miracle. So, arm yourself with patience. It will be all worth in the end.
