Pittsburgh has a perhaps unfair reputation as an industrial center in Western Pennsylvania. While this might be what the city’s history largely revolves around, the reality is that there are plenty of cultural attractions here nowadays.

Art lovers, in fact, will find themselves right at home in the Steel City. If you find yourself traveling to Pittsburgh, be sure to add these fantastic destinations to your list of places to see.

The Andy Warhol Museum

Andy Warhol, the famous 20th-century American pop artist, was a Pittsburgh native. Nowadays, you can visit his namesake museum in the North Shore neighborhood of the city to see works that he created throughout his long and illustrious career.

Carnegie Museum of Art

Are you looking for a more conventional art museum visit during your time in Pittsburgh? The Carnegie Museum of Art was founded 125 years ago and now hosts one of the country’s best collections of 19th and 20th-century pieces such as Monet’s “Water Lilies.”

Randyland

Randyland is one of the United States’ most unique art installations and is located just outside of Pittsburgh’s center. Founder Randy Gibson purchased a building back in 1995 and has turned it into an outsider art landmark, using colorful recycled materials to make one of the city’s most unique attractions.
