As far as expensive hobbies are concerned, travel ranks pretty high. And although going on trips has always been a pricey exercise, it has become more costly following the pandemic. There is some good news, however, for those wishing to explore the world but not able to afford it right now.

The Croatian Tourist Board is making it possible for people to visit the country without leaving the comfort of their home.

The board is offering virtual walks through some of Croatia’s best-loved sights. You will be able to zoom in and out, take a 360° view, and even get a bird’s eye perspective.

“We continuously invest in promotion and communication channels and keep up with modern trends,” stated Kristjan Staničić who serves as the director of the tourist board. “Digitalisation of Croatian tourism, along with sustainability, represents one of the key strategic directions of its further development, so in the future, we will additionally upgrade this VR platform with new technological solutions, as well as materials for new destinations and language variants.”

One of the most popular tourist destinations in the world, the Southeastern European country boasts stunning beaches, medieval architecture, and churches and monuments that date back centuries. It has also been the location for popular series like Game of Thrones.

Virtual travelers can embark on over 60 walks, including Zagreb, the Church of St. Blaise in Dubrovnik, and the island of Lokrum.

The walks can be accessed via the Explore Croatia mobile app or on the Croatian Tourist Board website.
