New York City’s The Museum of Broadway is a Theater Lover’s Dream

According to the song, the neon lights are bright on Broadway and there is always magic in the air. Anyone who has ever been to New York city’s Theater District can surely attest. With 41 professional theaters and dozens of productions taking place every day, Broadway is where the arts come alive.

Aside from shopping, Broadway is the number one reason that tourists visit the Big Apple. And now, they can learn a bit more about its history in between catching shows.

The Museum of Broadway was originally set to open in 2020, but like many things, was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The 26,000-foot space is finally up and running on West 45th Street, and is ready to take visitors on an immersive journey.

The museum is comprised of three sections and spans 300 years’ worth of Broadway history.

“We are going to share information about the history of the Broadway theaters through projection mapped videos, the timeline of Broadway told through immersive environments that will leave people’s Instagram feeds full of great photos, and give guests a behind-the-scenes look at the making of a Broadway show by spotlighting all the jobs and what it takes to create a Broadway show,” reads the museum’s website.

Tours are self-guided, with tickets starting at $39 for adults, $32 for seniors, and $29 for students.
