Forget everything negative that you’ve heard about Colombia and this city in particular, because it is a destination that any tourist cannot and should not miss.

Medellín has 2.5 million residents, but has many unique neighborhoods that make the metropolis feel more like a small town in parts. Go to a local restaurant and enjoy a bandeja paisa or an arepa to sample the tastes of Colombia.

As Medellín is beautifully located in valley in the midst of the high peaks of the Andes, be sure to climb to one of the numerous lookouts of the city, such as Cerro Nutibara, to marvel at its beauty.

If you are looking for a cultural experience, Medllín has plenty to offer in that regard as well. The Museo de Arte Moderno has works from some of the best South American artists, and the Museo de Antioquia provides a fascinating look at the history of the city and region.

Medellín has perfect weather, a stunning natural situation, delicious food, and loads of cultural experiences to see. If you look past its troubled history, a fascinating place awaits.
