Eight years ago, Matt Karsten had a life-changing plan – he would quit his job and go traveling around the world for seven years. And even though he’s now officially back to the U.S., he still devotes at list six months a year to traveling.

Into the ice & snow we go! 😎☃️ •••• Eric Larsen (@elexplore ) skiing across Lake Winnipeg, pulling a sled full of supplies to last the next 5 days. This is his Level 1 polar expedition course, showing students how to survive outside in extreme cold, snow, and ice conditions. •••• Many of the students are planning their own tough ice expeditions to Greenland, the South Pole, or the North Pole. After leaving the Serengeti, we drove for hours to Tanzania's Ngorongoro Crater. Along the rim of the crater, Maasai villages like this one dot the landscape. They lead their cows down into the wildlife-filled crater to graze along with all the elephants, zebras, and lions. •••• Did you know that the traditional red Maasai cloaks help protect them against predators? Apparently big cats don’t like the color red.
