Visiting New York can be expensive, especially depending on where you want to stay. A hotel or apartment rental in Manhattan will definitely cost you an arm and a leg, but if you stay at one of these surrounding areas you’ll be minutes from the city and pay much less for accommodations!
Williamsburg
Williamsburg is a neighborhood in Brooklyn that was one of the first of the neighborhoods to get gentrified in the borough. From Williamsburg, you can take the L train just one stop and you’ll be in Manhattan! This makes it super convenient and great as an option for hotels and Air BnBs.
Astoria
Astoria is a great neighborhood in Queens that has a lot of Middle Eastern and Mediterranean influences, which makes it a really fun and lively place to stay. Best of all, you can be in Midtown Manhattan in 10 minutes if you take either the N or W train!
Hoboken
Hoboken is actually a city in New Jersey, but it’s still an awesome neighborhood and a really easy train ride into the city! You just need to take a PATH train into the city and you’ll be in there in 15 minutes or less! Plus, you’ll get an amazing view of Manhattan!
