Traveling itself can be stressful, but traveling with your dog brings the anxiety to a higher level. However, exploring the world with your best friend is better than being a solo nomad. So, we present to you three great tips when wandering the world with your fur buddy.
Size Matters
You should know that big dogs are not allowed in the flying cabin. Only small dogs (46 cm length x 28 cm width x 24 cm height) with max 8 kilograms can keep you company during flight, but still, they can’t be outside of their bag or kennel. If your best friend is big, he or she can be transported as extra checked baggage and will travel in the hold. However, there is an option, an expensive one, where your dog can fly on a cargo plane and be looked after by the airline attendants.
Vet Checks
This is one of the most important things you should think about when planning a travel with your buddy. You want to be sure that your doggy is perfectly healthy and ready for an adventure. Also, most airlines require a signed health certification.
The Climate
Last, but not least, before you even consider going on a holiday, think about the country’s climate you are going to. Will it be too hot or too cold for your dog? However, if you are still going to a different climate your friend is used to, bring with you some accessories: warm or cool down coats, boots, shoes, etc.
