San Diego, California is a beautiful city with perfect weather year-round. Here are the top spots to visit if you’re only there for a short visit.
Balboa Park
Opened in 1868, this is one of the best places to visit if passing anywhere near San Diego. A botanical park with a variety of nurseries and gardens, the place is a delight to spend a few hours in. The park also has an arts center dedicated to Chicano, Mexican, Indigenous and Latino art and culture, a Museum of Photographic Arts, and Science Center, alongside quite a few other historical and art museums. You could spend the whole day there or pick out a few points of interest.
Old Town
Considered to be “California’s Birthplace”, the old town is a historical monument of the state’s early days. The Old Town San Diego State Historic Park showcases the architecture of colonial San Diego, the Whaley House Museum was built on top of a gallows and is known as an official haunted house, and in the Old Town Market Place, you will find carts with crafts, clothes, and Mexican traditional accessories.
The Embarcadero
Situated along the Big Bay, San Diego’s Embarcadero is a historical maritime area where you can find historic ships, museums, and tours. But it’s also a working fishing harbor so you can witness the real life of a Californian port.
