If you’ve started seeing someone fairly recently, the idea of taking a trip together can be a little daunting as well as exciting. A mini-break or a vacation can be a great way to take your relationship to the next level, but how do you plan it so that all goes well and there are no major arguments? These simple tips offer guidance and advice to help ensure your first trip away together is a great success.

Shorter is Better

As this is your first trip away, you may want to think about limiting the time. This is to ensure that neither of you feels too stressed or pressured by the time away, so you can both focus on enjoying your break. Consider getting away for a long weekend, or even just stopping off somewhere for one night, before you book longer vacations.

Agree on the Destination

While it may seem like a lovely idea to surprise your new partner with a trip you’ve booked, it may be better to agree on a destination together for this first trip. As you’re still getting to know one another, it’s a safer bet to find a location you’re both excited about, rather than excitedly telling them you’re heading to the sea only to discover that they hate swimming and sunbathing.

Agree on an Itinerary

While you don’t need to set everything you’ll do on vacation in stone before you leave, it can be a good idea to share a few of your favorite activities. This way, you’ll both have an idea of what to expect, and you should be able to share your ideal activities so that you can both enjoy the perfect holiday.
