Packing for a vacation is always tricky. Trying to decide what clothes to bring is never easy, and then you have to think about footwear too. Shoes take up a lot of space in luggage but can make all the difference between a good and a bad day. If you often struggle to decide then here are some questions to ask yourself to help narrow it down.

Are You Headed Somewhere with a Lot of Rain?

This may seem like an obvious thing to consider, but it’s something to be taken very seriously. If you’ve ever experienced an intense downpour in inappropriate footwear then you’ll know just how unbearable it is. If there is likely to be rain while you’re there then make it an absolute priority to have some properly comfortable, waterproof shoes.

Will You be Walking a Lot?

Maybe you’re planning to spend every day sat by the pool, or already have some bus tours scheduled so you know walking won’t be a huge part of your trip. If however, you are planning or expecting to walk far even for just a few of the days that you’re there, then comfortable, walking shoes or boots should be on your packing list.

Will You be Heading Out for the Evening?

It’s a classic issue to forget to pack for those nights out when you want to dress a bit more fancy. Maybe you’re not bothered about wearing scruffy trainers to the restaurant, but if you are then factor this into your decision-making.
