How About Starting the New Year with a Short Holiday?

Recent research done by the mattress review site The Sleep Judge showed that a quick weekend getaway can help you relax just as much as a longer vacation. Perhaps there’s still time to plan a two-day trip to start the New Year with? After all, it will help you feel better once you get back to the office.

According to the research, employees reported feeling the most beneficial after taking a vacation that lasted six to ten days, but a one or two days trip had a similar effect. Trips that lasted from 3-5 days and those that lasted from 11 to 15 days made people feel worse about going back to work. Note that this is true for trips, not staycations, even though they both use up your vacation days.

What about workcation? The idea of packing your laptop and changing your location so you can work while on vacation is especially popular among millennials and remote employees. It can be a fun setup that combines work and vacation, but it doesn’t allow for complete relaxation.
