All-inclusive resorts seem tempting for people who want a relaxing vacation. Pay a fixed price, and you have everything you might need, from food and drinks to accommodation and entertainment options.

However, all-inclusive resorts are not as amazing as they sound. There are a few things you should know about them before booking your stay.

Not Everything is Included

You would think that an “all-inclusive” tag would mean that everything from the resort’s offering is included in the price you’ve paid. But that is rarely the case. Guests usually have to pay extra to “unlock” access to tennis courts, spa, premium drinks, and even some restaurants.

Rooms Can be Underwhelming

When you book a stay at an all-inclusive resort, you probably expect a top-notch room. Well, good luck getting one. Most rooms are underwhelming, being small and offering a disappointing view compared to the one that has been advertised.

You’ll Have to Do a Lot of Tipping

Want to get your room properly cleaned and towels changed on a regular basis? Do you wish to have your glass regularly refilled? Then, you’ll have to do a lot of tipping. The resort staff will offer you a much better service if they receive some extra reward.

Prepare to Wait a Lot

All-inclusive resorts usually have a lot of guests, so everywhere you go is crowded. You’ll have to wait for a seat at the restaurant, to get served at the bar, and even to find a free beach bed.
