Established in 1990, Nigeria’s Lekki Conservation Center is now one of Africa’s top urban parks. It’s not simply a tourist attraction, it also has an important ecological value, as it is home to a large and diverse collection of species.

The Conservation Center is the only notable protected wildlife park in Lagos, and it offers some fantastic experiences and educational programs to visitors.

The flagship attraction of the park is its 1,300-foot long canopy walkway, which is the longest in Africa! You get to walk at treetop-height, and at the highest points even look down at the entire forest and check out the birds and monkeys hanging out on the tallest branches.

There’s also a pathway through the woods at ground level, which includes several lookouts and a storybook treehouse, where you can see and hear the birds that live in the forest.

At the end of the walkway are the Koi & Tilapia ponds, allowing a moment of cool serenity in the hot Lagos weather.

And of course, the Mona monkeys! As you walk with your guide through the forest, these cute creatures are there to engage with, stop for a chat, or even happily pose for a photo.
