Even though it’s a country, Italy can be best described as the foodie capital of the world, as it is home to many of the greatest restaurants around the globe. But even here, there is one establishment that definitely stands out from the rest – Grotta Palazzese, a place dubbed ‘the most romantic restaurant in Europe’, and here’s why!

Located in the town of Polignano a Mare, around 20 miles south from Bari, this building is a true jewel of the Italian Adriatic coast. This luxurious restaurant is located inside a cave with a great view of the sea. The location has a long history as a place where members of the royal family hosted lavish parties ever since the 1700s. Now, travelers from all over the world have the unique chance to experience dining like the Italian nobility.

The visual identity and overall appearance of the restaurant are simply gorgeous and the service is impeccable. And even though the gourmet seafood specialties come with a fairly high price, it is definitely worth it!

Being really classy, the restaurant has a dress code, so forget about sandals and shorts and dress for the occasion of enjoying a truly royal experience!
