Over the years, unique and wonderful accommodations have been popping up all over Air BnB. One of our favorites, however, is in Galway. And for anyone that’s thinking “where’s that?” may we refer you to Ed Sheeran.

And here’s why we just bumped staying in Cahercastle to the top of our bucket list.

It’s An Actual Freakin’ Castle

Cahercastle is an actual freakin’ castle. Did we mention that already? It’s been standing since the 1400s and has been restored to its original state. The host has spent the last decade refurbishing the castle to ensure guests can enjoy the authentic experience.

It Has 1071 5* Reviews

100% of guests gave Cahercastle a 5* rating. Perhaps that’s because the host is selective about who he chooses but it also may just be because you can’t go wrong when you’re staying in a stunning medieval castle.

It Has Everything You Need

Guests can enjoy access to all basic necessities including solar-powered electricity, a bathtub, and WiFi access. The castle has everything you need and not too much more, so you can enjoy the rustic simplicity of the Medieval experience.

The Location Is Perfect

The castle is located in a beautiful part of Ireland. It is just a 25-minute drive from Galway and you can get to Dublin in two hours by car.

It’s Affordable

You can stay at Cahercastle for $180 per night. This may seem steep at first but when you consider the fact that you will have a once in a lifetime experience, it suddenly seems quite affordable.

You can book Cahercastle via Air BnB here but the location is obviously very sought after, so there is no guarantee you will be able to book the dates you want. The host, therefore, requests you take the time to write an introductory message. Good luck!
