If you’re a fan of beautiful sights, interesting places, and exciting destinations, chances are pretty good that you’ll want to visit Cyprus at least once in your life. An island nation in the Mediterranean, Cyprus is the third largest and third most populous island in the sea, located just southeast of Greece, and no less interesting. Below, here’s a brief list of what you’ll want to do and see while you’re there.

Nissi Beach

Let’s start with Cyprus’s most famous beach, Nissi Beach. It’s 500 meters of white sand, crystal-clear turquoise waters, water sports, and vitamin D.

Aphrodite’s Rock (Petra tou Romiou)

There are a few famous rocks around the world that aren’t worth visiting—Plymouth rock and the Blarney stone come to mind—but this is one that is actually worth your trip. Legend has it that it’s the birthplace of the Goddess of Love herself, and it’s situated in a picturesque scene with cool waters you’ll enjoy regardless.

Tomb of the Kings

A World Heritage site, the Tomb of the Kings dates back to the 4th century BC and its massive size and meticulously carved tombs call visitors from around the world to admire the history and the architecture.
