Freya Dowson’s Documentary Photography Shows the Beauty of Life

Freya Dowson was born in Bermuda, grew up in Canada, and is currently living in England. She’s an editorial documentary photographer who’s constantly on the road, documenting what life is all about in different parts of our planet. 

“I have a restless heart that finds peace in movement and a life on the road,” Dowson writes on her website. “I am happiest when I am working with my camera, and creating something meaningful.”

Freya is a new mom so life has slowed down a bit recently, but we believe she will be back on the road sooner than we think. Follow her on Instagram for future work.

Happy New Years Eve!! Here's to more reasons to smile in 2017 and the best of parts of this year :: David Attenborough wrote me a letter • after a lifetime of never seeing a firefly I saw them in three different countries • one of my photos was published in a book for the Queen • I became a vegetarian • I overcame my fear of flying (mostly…) • did photo shoots out of a plane, a helicopter and a mile underground • made friends with a lot of baby elephants • had a film I made nominated for an award • fell in love with some new countries • my best friends had babies • Adam and I drove across Cuba • and I traveled so much and met too many interesting people to begin to count… it was full of ups and downs but it was good. Does anyone else get terrible caption block on Instagram? My mind completely spirals when I have to write something in this tiny box – a good caption has to tell a story, it has to be engaging, succinct, meaningful, personal… it’s a lot! How much does anyone care if my captions are completely unrelated to my photos?
