The landscape of world travel has definitely changed as the fight against COVID-19 continues. While borders have generally opened up and tourism has restarted (with all of the necessary precaution in place, of course), travel won’t look like it did before the virus for quite some time.

This reality has conditioned the travel trends which we will see in the fall of 2020, which is rapidly approaching. Let’s check out some of the most popular options that people will look for in the upcoming season.

Rural Getaways

The fewer the people there are around you, the better is generally the rule in the middle of a pandemic. Rural getaways to small towns and national parks are a great option if you want to go with your family or friends and avoid the tightly-packed masses of cities. Book soon, because these destinations are set to be in high demand.

Contactless Pay

While you might’ve had to worry about getting the local currency for paying at hotels, restaurants, and tourist attractions in the past, contactless pay with card chips and mobile phones is all the rage these days. Be sure to have at least one contactless payment method with you while traveling this fall, as some businesses don’t even accept cash now.

Renting Whole Units

It’s completely understandable if you don’t want to stay in a hotel or a shared AirBNB at this time, which has led to the growth of renting whole units. This fall, it’ll be more popular than ever to rent an entire apartment or house in order to stay isolated.
