As you get ready to pack your suitcase, you may be wondering whether or not you should pack a sweatshirt. Your destination is known to be a hot one, and everyone who you’ve spoken to there confirms that it is, indeed, hot. Additionally, you hate overpacking with unnecessary things you don’t need. So should you pack a sweatshirt in this case? In our opinion, the answer should still be a resounding yes.

Always Be Prepared

When it comes to the preachings of not overpacking, you’ll often hear people say that you should stop worrying about “not being prepared” for certain occasions. We actually completely agree with that sentiment. However, there’s a big difference between not being prepared for a random occasion where you’ll need that funky-looking dress—and not being prepared because it’s all of a sudden freezing outside and you have no sweatshirt.

A sweatshirt is an essential item, and even though the weather seems to be hot, the weather can also be unpredictable. It’s always good to bring one on your trip, and it’s worth whatever suitcase space you think you’re compromising. If space in your bag really bothers you, find a sweatshirt that’s compact and not super bulky if that helps!
